“Funding projects that make Columbus a better place… together.”

What is Columbus SOUP?

Think of it as grassroots crowdfunding. Columbus SOUP was founded in 2013 to help connect community members, volunteers, and local projects, while raising money and awarding small grants. Our grants are intended to fund small projects or kickstart larger initiatives.
At each SOUP, attendees (or as we like to call them, the Green Spoon Army) pay $7 cash for a seat, some soup, and most importantly — a vote. Five organizations present their potential projects based around one central theme. At the end of the event, everyone votes (using their green spoons) on their favorite project, and the one that earns the most votes receives 100% of the entrance fees.
It’s a simple concept, but it can have a big impact.

Columbus SOUP is proud that 100% of the entrance donations are used to fund the SOUP grant for our winning project. So, to fund the event we rely on generous people who would like to help with our operating costs.
